About this package

The Baseline has been running tennis retreats since its first edition and this one — Edition 18/19, back in Phuket for August 2026 — is the clay court edition. That distinction matters. Most tennis retreats in Southeast Asia operate on hard courts. The DOME clay courts in Phuket are a different surface and a different conversation: clay rewards patience, construction, and physical conditioning in ways that hard courts don't demand, and training on it for five concentrated days produces changes in your game that take significantly longer to develop through regular club sessions.

The coaching partnership for this edition is the reason the clay surface works as more than a novelty. Plobrung — Coach Ice from Crystal Sports in Bangkok — is a former Australian Open Junior competitor and NCAA D1 player for the Oregon Ducks. She has built a reputation in Bangkok for high-energy coaching with sharp technical attention and an unusual ability to identify and unlock levels that players didn't know they had. She is not a resort coach running through generic drills with beginners. She is a former competitive professional who coaches like one. The tennis venue itself adds a further layer of credibility that most retreat organisers cannot offer: it is operated by the Tournament Director of an ATP 500 event, which means the standard of facility management and court quality reflects professional tour expectations rather than recreational club norms.

The daily structure is designed for adults who want serious tennis without the punishing intensity of a training camp. Each day opens with a 45-minute mobility and wellness session at 7:45am — not optional stretching before the real work, but a properly programmed session that prepares the body for two tennis sessions in the same day without accumulating the kind of fatigue that makes the fifth day feel like survival. Breakfast follows, then a two-hour morning tennis session from 10am to noon, then lunch, then a two-hour afternoon session from 3pm to 5pm. Dinner at 7pm. The evening is free time, with optional massage available for anyone who wants the recovery investment to carry across to the next morning's sessions.

The accommodation is NOKU Resort Phuket — a five-star property with the kind of pool and setting that makes five days in Phuket feel like an actual holiday alongside the tennis commitment. All-inclusive dining at top-rated local restaurants is included, which means the food element of the trip is handled and the evenings can be spent relaxing rather than navigating menus and splitting bills.

Three courts are allocated across appropriate levels, so a player arriving at a comfortable club standard will not be on the same court as someone playing for the first time. The group energy that the Baseline has built across seventeen previous editions is the intangible that past participants describe most consistently — this is a community of people who travel for sport, connection, and the specific pleasure of getting significantly better at something they love, in a place that rewards the effort of getting there.

Two runs are available. Run 1 is 19-24 August 2026, with six spots remaining. Run 2 is 26-30 August 2026, with twelve spots. An early bird discount of 5% applies for the first six deposits across both runs combined, with an additional discount for shared room bookings. The early bird window closed 22 June 2026, so enquire through experience.tennis immediately for current pricing and availability.
