About this package

The Arrillaga Tennis Center at Stanford University sits in Palo Alto at the heart of one of the most successful collegiate tennis programmes in American history. Stanford's women's team has won more NCAA titles than any programme in the country. The courts have produced professional players, Olympic representatives, and generations of serious competitive junior players. The Summer Tennis Camp opens those courts and those coaches to players aged 8 to 17 for four days of structured, intensive, genuinely high-level junior coaching.

The camp runs Monday through Thursday, 9am to 3pm, as a full-day programme. Four rotations anchor the daily structure: Serve and Return Courts, Ball Machine Drills, Live Ball Drills, and Conditioning. Each covers a distinct dimension of the game and the rotation format means every camper works through all four across each day rather than spending the week on a single area. The progression across the four days is deliberate — stroke development and footwork in the early sessions build toward match play, point construction, and competitive tournament-style play by the end of the week.

The coaching staff is the strongest argument for this specific camp over the dozens of other junior tennis programmes available in California and across the US. Frankie Brennan is Stanford's head women's coach and has spent decades developing players at the highest level of collegiate tennis. Janice Shin, the assistant coach, brings additional experience that the combined 50-plus years between them makes immediately apparent on court. At a 6:1 camper-to-coach ratio, the feedback is personal rather than generalised — your child is not one of thirty players waiting for a turn at a drill. They are one of six.

The camp is co-ed and open to players of all levels within the 8 to 17 age range. Spots are limited — the 6:1 ratio is maintained precisely because the quality of instruction depends on it. Cancellations made 14 or more days before the camp start date are eligible for a refund minus a $100 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 14 days of the start date are non-refundable.

The Stanford campus itself is worth a mention. Palo Alto in summer is warm, walkable, and genuinely beautiful — the sandstone architecture, the palm-lined drives, and the sense of an institution that takes itself seriously without being austere. For any junior player who might one day consider collegiate tennis, spending four days training on a Division I campus is an experience that extends beyond the coaching sessions themselves.

Enquire through experience.tennis for current session dates, availability, and pricing. The camp runs across multiple sessions through the summer — we will confirm which sessions have availability and help you secure a spot.
